Uncertainty is also framed as the very reason investment risk premiums exist—markets constantly wrestle with unknown outcomes, from the future of AI to geopolitical instability. What Student Loan Borrowers Need to Know About Judge’s Ruling on SAVE Plan
A recent federal court decision blocked an attempt to shut down the SAVE income‑driven repayment plan early, leaving roughly 7 million borrowers with temporary protection while its long‑term future remains uncertain. The judge’s dismissal means the plan technically remains in place, even though Congress has already scheduled it to end on July 1, 2028. Many borrowers expected the program to substantially reduce their monthly payments, but ongoing legal and political battles left the program frozen, with borrowers placed in forbearance and interest accruing again since August 2025. Consumer advocates say the ruling gives the U.S. Department of Education an opportunity to restore access to SAVE’s benefits, yet the Department has not indicated whether it will resume processing payments or forgiveness.

Despite this legal victory for borrowers, uncertainty remains because the administration still has multiple paths to end the plan sooner, such as appealing the ruling or initiating a formal regulatory process. Experts recommend that borrowers prepare for the possibility that SAVE will not be fully reinstated and plan for alternative repayment options, especially since the plan is already legally scheduled to sunset in 2028. The ruling provides temporary breathing room but not clarity; borrowers remain in limbo as they await the Department of Education’s next steps and any additional legal actions.

Don't Make These Morning Health Mistakes
Several common morning habits can unintentionally make the start of the day harder. Hitting the snooze button disrupts the sleep cycle rather than improving rest, while staying in a dark room delays the body’s internal clock and can affect mood, immunity, and alertness. Sleeping late, even on weekends, also throws off long‑term sleep quality. Jumping out of bed too quickly can cause dizziness from a sudden drop in blood pressure, and skipping a morning workout removes an important boost to energy, weight control, and mood.

Other overlooked mistakes include skipping coffee if it's part of a regular routine — which may trigger headaches and fatigue — and forgetting to brush teeth, allowing plaque to harden into tartar and contribute to gum issues. Brushing immediately after acidic drinks like coffee isn’t recommended either, since acid softens tooth enamel. Adjusting these small habits helps support better health, energy, and daily well‑being.

A random note or thought for the week:
In the thick of review meetings (our early-year huddle season) and tax reviews, I truly love reconnecting with our clients. It's the one thing I'm scared to lose as we keep growing. I know the day will come when I'm no longer hosting these meetings—heck, they're already about half what they were a few years ago. While it's a great sign of our growth, it's still bittersweet to think about. 🥲

Over the past year or two, I've intentionally cut back on speaking engagements and conferences. Much of it is family-driven (I hate missing the boys' sports and school events), but it's also "expensive" to step away during this growth phase for WealthKeel.

That said, the one commitment I kept for 2026 is with LUGPA (Large Urology Group Practice Association). They run an excellent Resident Summit every year, and this will be my 4th in a row speaking. So on Friday, I fly up to Philly, speak Saturday afternoon, and head back Saturday evening. For our Philly-area clients: this is a quick trip—landing Friday night, speaking mid-afternoon Saturday, then straight to the airport. If I had more time, I'd plan something fun! I do hope to squeeze in a run Friday morning on the Schuylkill River Trail (where my love for running kicked off mid-COVID) and a coffee at La Colombe.
